onestardiffersfromanotherstarinluster. Itmustbe
so,not becausethe falHblejudgment ofmanasserts
it,butbecausethatWordwhichisaboveman'sjudg-
ment,andwhichisaboveallman'sscience,andwhich
iseverandforevertruescience,declaresitso.
TheWordtellsusthat"onestardifferethfroman-
other starin glory." Notwo starsare alike. And
thegreatdifferenceinthestars,theWordannounces,
liesinthedifferenceintheirglory. This saystous,
Wouldyouknowthedifferencebetweenonestarand
another? Studytheirglory, forthereinliestheirdif-
ference.
The word "glory" in the Bible means essentially
characterandradiance. Iwillnotattempttoshowthis
here, butacarefulstudyofthetermwill revealthe
fact. Glorymeanscharacter;butitalwayscarriesthe
ideaofluster,brilliancy,light. Therelationofchar-
acterandbrightnessasembodiedintheword"glory,"
seemstobethatofcauseandeffect;thebrightnessis
theoutshining,ormanifestation,ofthecharacter.
And so the passage says to us: One star differs
from anotherstarin characterandbrilliancy. Study
thatluster,examinethatlight,ifyouwouldknowthe
differenceincharacterofthestarsone fromanother.
Onestardiffersfrom anotherstaringlory,andthat
meansforyouthatthereisadifferenceintheirlight.
Studythatlight,andyouwillknowtheirdifference.
Aswestudythedifferenceinanumberofartificial
lights,thereis onedifferencethatfirstofallattracts
