alltheplanetsofoursystemwithitatthisastounding
pace. Anexpresstrainmakesperhapsamileaminute,
butthesunmovesoversevenhundredmilesaminute.
Yetitsorbitissovastlylargethatastronomerscannot
detecttheslightestcurvatureinit. Thesunseemsto
bemovinginastraightline;butwearesurethatthis
cannotbe, for everypath yet found fora heavenly
bodyis aclosedorbit,unlessweexceptsome ofthe

Howmanyaeonsofagesitwillrequireforthesun
oncetoencircleitsmightyorbit,nomancansay. But
thefactofsuchamonstrouscycleoftimeonthedial
oftheclockoftheskies tellsussomethingofthose
ageswhichbelongtoHim who"inhabiteth eternity."
