within. Itis absolutelyobedient; it respondsimme-
diately,obeyingimplicitlythecreativeWord. Andso,
whenthevoiceofGodspeakswithapowerthatshakes
theheavens and theearth (Heb. 12:26-28), the at-
mospherewillundergo a changethat removesallits
veil-likepower, its obscuring curtain effect, and we
shallseematoncetobebroughtclosertotheshining
universeaboveus.
Thismustmeanaremoval,byoneactofcreation,of
everythingintheatmospherethatinterfereswithsight.
Therearevastquantitiesofwatery vaporintheair
atalltimes. Theseareapparentlyinvisible,yetthey
have theirpartinobscuringthevision. Watermay
bequicklychangedintoinvisiblehydrogenandoxygen
bytheelectrolyticpowerofelectricity. Bysomeun-
knownyetpossiblyanalogousprocess,allthewaterin
the atmosphere may be quickly removed by being-
changed intohydrogen andoxygen; orit might,by
someprocessunknowntous,becondensedintoclouds
and movedto thoseportions of the atmospherenot
covering the inhabited portions of the globe. But
whateverthelanguageunderconsiderationmaymean,
itcertainlyindicatesa wonderful clearingofthe at-
mosphere.
Justbeforeatheatricalperformanceistobegin,the
curtainrises. Sometimesthecurtaindoesnotriseat
theappointedhour. Theorchestraplays,buttheau-
dience are not deceived. They know that the per-
formancewillnotbeginuntilthecurtainrises. When
thecurtainrises, theyknowthattheperformance is
