All the same, the most rigorous challenge facing Yongxin is the maintenance of the
ERP systems. As the computer software fields update quickly, the original ERP systems
cannot satisfy their requirements, requiring the company to improve the ERP systems.
However, the original financial section of the ERP system was not bought from the same
software suppliers as other sections, which brings the challenge of coordinating
maintenance of all the sections after the update of the whole system. Actually, the whole
ERP system of Yongxin will be ruined if the coordination fails.
Thus, the case study shows that knowledge management is a systemic process
which requires all-round strategic planning. Only in this way can it bring its far-reaching
influence to the development of enterprises.
Lessons
- The applications of theory should adapt to the objective environment. Different
culture environments and organizational structure of companies have differences,
so the practices and application of knowledge sharing should complement real
environmental situations. - Be careful about methods and modes in knowledge sharing. Adapting different
methods to transfer the same kind of knowledge may affect effectiveness. There-
fore, we should pay more attention to choose modes of organizational study and
training in knowledge sharing. - Pay more attention to cooperation in a team. The application of new techniques is
a systematic process and it cannot be done by one person. Each member of the
organization should cooperate and support each other to achieve the biggest
advantage of team work.
