Professor Robert D. Galliers and Dr. Edgar Whitley supervise her work. She earned her
MSc in analysis, design, and management of information systems (ADMIS) in 2001 at
LSE. Her master’s dissertation was on exploring the influencing factors of a knowledge-
sharing context, focusing on a knowledge management case at McKinsey & Co., where
she worked closely with IMD and the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. Her future
research will expand into strategic organizational design and development in the global
context. She resides in Hamburg, Germany.
Li Ping is a lecturer of business administration at the School of Management of Harbin
Institute of Technology. She specializes in human resource management and manufac-
turing strategy. She focuses on the graduate program and undergraduate program, where
she teaches human resource management and business plan. She is the author of book
chapters and international conference proceedings on production and operation man-
agement.
Ronald Maier holds a PhD in management information systems from The Koblenz School
of Corporate Management–Otto Beisheim Graduate School of Management (WHU) and
a habilitation degree from the University of Regensburg. He worked as a visiting assistant
professor at the Terry College of Business, University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia,
(1998-1999). Since 2002, he has been with the School of Business and Economics, Martin
Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and holds a chair in MIS, Information Systems
Leadership. He has published articles on knowledge management (systems) in a number
of research journals, books, and conference proceedings. His research interests include
data management and business intelligence, business process management, and knowl-
edge management.
Brigette McGregor-Macdonald is a learning and development consultant based in
London. For the past four years, her work has taken her across Europe supporting
financial services businesses in project management, leadership development, and
coaching. She designs and implements leadership programmes, facilitates learning
events, and has a keen interest in sustaining learning. Prior to her current role, Brigette
worked in Japan managing a private school. Brigette graduated from Victoria University
of Wellington with a Bachelor’s in Commerce majoring in management.
Judy McKay is an associate professor and information systems discipline leader in the
Faculty of Information and Communication Technologies at Swinburne University of
Technology, Melbourne. She has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland,
postgraduate qualifications in business and business systems from Curtin University,
and has completed a PhD from the University of Queensland, studying the provision of
information needs for managers. She teaches a number of master’s- and MBA-level units,
specializing in information systems planning and management, IS governance, and the
delivery of business value from IT. Her areas of interest from both a teaching and research
perspective are in the fields of information systems management, IS/IT strategy and
alignment, IS governance, e-Business, and IT evaluation and benefits realisation. She is
a regular presenter at international conferences and has published numerous journal
articles and book chapters. In 2004, she coauthored a book with Associate Professor
Peter Marshall entitled, Strategic Management of e-Business (Wiley). In addition, she
