Lung Disorders 133
➤ Pancreatic enzyme tablets. Take two to three tablets with
each meal; this is only for individuals who are thirty years old
or over.
➤ Vitamin A (25,000 to 50,000 units a day). It helps build
healthy mucous membranes and is an immune system
booster.
➤ Vitamin D (1,000 to 2,000 units/day).
➤ Vitamin E (400 to 1,200 units/day). Vitamin E oxygenizes the
asthmatic’s oxygen-defi cient lungs.
➤ Vitamin C (1,000 mg two to six times per day). Do this for a
few weeks periodically to detoxify allergens in the blood.
➤ Vitamin B 6 (100 to 200 mg/day). B 6 acts as an antihistamine.
➤ Garlic. Take two to three capsules with each meal to clear out
the lungs and colon.
➤ Aloe vera. Peel and chop fi nely. Add either to fruit juice or to
beaten egg whites.
➤ Melatonin. Check with your doctor before using. A study at
the Hebrew University Hadassah Medical School and
Cardiopulmonary Laboratory in Israel found that melatonin
administered to dogs intravenously dilated the lungs as
effectively as drug medications. People with autoimmune
diseases should not take melatonin.
➤ Ginkgo biloba extract. The first plant to grow after the
atomic bombing of Hiroshima, ginkgo diminishes asthma-
stimulating allergens and airborne bacteria in the blood.^7
➤ Ice pack. Rub ice cubes wrapped in a dish towel on the chest,
usually for a minimum of two to three hours during an
asthmatic attack. This treatment gradually opens up
constricted bronchial tubes and eliminates the aftermath of
asthmatic attacks—wheezing.
➤ Sea salt. Add sea salt to warm water and place two or three
drops of the solution in each nostril. This destroys the pollen
and other airborne allergy-causing particles that cause
wheezing and colds that can lead to asthmatic attacks.
