Secondary stress

In words of four or more syllables, there is often a syllable that receives a little stress,
but not as much as the primary-stress syllable. We say this syllable has secondary
stress. For example, the word conˌgratuˈlations has !ve syllables, with the primary
stress on the fourth syllable and secondary stress on the second syllable.
