Tapped /t/ (or flapped /t/)
A sound made when the tongue taps the alveolar ridge very quickly, so that it sounds
like a quick /d/. This is called an alveolar flap or tap, and it is represented by this
symbol: [ɾ]. It’s a voiced sound.
