Backlog Management
Two types of backlog:
- Backlog: is made up of all work order, regardless of status
- Planned Ready Backlog: is made up of all work orders that are ready
to schedule and have parts on site
Needed to schedule effectively. Many pieces of equipment on site, and limited
access as the equipment is running to produce product. So, a large amount of
work needs to be available based on what equipment is available.
Typically, between 2-4 weeks is required to facilitate a weekly schedule, as not
all equipment will be available at all times.
Also enables opportunistic maintenance, as there is always work waiting to be
accomplished in the event the equipment becomes available with minimal
lead time.
Often calculated by trade.
