Myss, Caroline An American intuitive healer and
author. Myss, a graduate of St. Mary of the Woods
College in Indiana, worked as a freelance journal-
ist when she attended a seminar of Elisabeth
Kübler-Ross and experienced a “crisis of meaning.”
Inspired, she attended Mundelein College and
received a master’s degree in theology. She there-
after started the Stillpoint Publishing Company.
During this time in New Hampshire Myss acknowl-
edged and began to demonstrate what she referred
to as medical intuitive abilities. As Myss said, “I had
all the ambition in the world to be a publisher and
all the talent to be a medical intuitive.” She started
working with holistic doctors, began creating
audiotapes, and lectured around the world. She
returned to Chicago and wrote Anatomy of the Spirit
(New York: Harmony Books, 1996), a New York
Timesbest-seller, and a year later, Why People Don’t
Heal and How They Can(New York: Harmony Books,
1997), which also became a best-seller. Myss cur-
rently gives lectures, seminars, workshops, and
educational programs.
