FIVE FACTS:
- The film is based on a young adult
romance novel, also called After, written by
Anna Todd. - The novel had its origins in a fan-fiction
story posted to the social storytelling
platform Wattpad in 2013, with Harry Styles,
member of the boy band One Direction, as
the “bad boy” love interest. - Todd proceeded to land a publishing deal
for her After series of novels, but the main
male character was renamed Hardin Scott. - Julia Goldani Telles was announced to
play Tessa Young in May 2018, with Todd
approving of the actress’s chemistry with
Fiennes-Tiffin. - However, in July 2018, it was announced
that Telles was leaving the film due to
scheduling conflicts. Josephine Langford
took her place.
