Rock and indie
Rock and indie bands are also popular. Dover were a big band of the
1990s, as were Los Planetas, a psychedelic rock outfit from Granada who
introduced aflamencostructure to their usual indie sound with 2007’sLa
leyenda del espacioalbum. Nosoträsh have also enjoyed a degree of success
with an all-female jaunty, jangly guitar sound. La Habitación Roja, another
guitar band, have been popular since the mid 1990s, while El Canto del Loco
are a more current rock outfit. Finally, writing in Spanish, English and
Portuguese, the Badajoz-born GeckoTurner fuses reggae, Latin jazz, guitar
fuzz and rap. It might not be very Spanish but it seems to woo the critics.

A ‘best of’ from one ofthebands of the last 30 years, a product of Madrid’smovida.

Lo Que Te Conté Mientras Te Hacías La Dormida(2003) La Oreja de Van Gogh.
