at the Kendrick House, Ipswich, Massachusetts (built 1665), the inkwell
sides with carved name and date “Nat’l Osgood August 20th 1819,”
and trees, figure, skull, and a medallion, ht. 2 1/8; together with a small
carved wood doll, with painted cotton gauze face, wearing a bonnet
and shawl and black silk dress, (frayed, toned), ht. 3 7/8 in.; and a small
note inscribed “Miss G. Preston/Present, Will my dear Sister accept
of this little gift/with the best wishes for her happiness/from her sister
Annie.”

brushed with black simulated graining, (minor paint losses), footed box
