that it should have several beneficial
functions: a removable inner cooking
insert to make cleaning easy, different
cooking settings (low, high, and warm),
and a timer. I always recommend having
at least two sizes, depending on your
cooking needs. I love the 3½-quart
(3.32-L) size (I use the Cuisinart) to
cook for your family on a day-to-day
basis. My 5-quart (4.74-L) Rival comes
in handy for cooking larger quantities
and for parties. I have a 6-quart All Clad
slow cooker that I just love. It was
expensive, and since it holds 6½ quarts
(6.16 L), it’s useful for parties. There
are smaller slow cookers that can work
for Indian cooking if they have different
heat settings. Beans do not cook well in
