- Put the beans and rice in the slow
cooker. (See page 47 for details on
making this dish without a slow cooker.) - In a food processor, process the
onion, ginger root, garlic, and chiles to a
watery paste. Add this mixture to the
slow cooker. - Add the cumin, salt, turmeric, red
chile powder, and water. - Cook on high for 4 hours. Garnish
with the cilantro and serve with a side of
salsa.
