Rüpa Gosvämi (c. 1460–1540)
One of the six original disciples of

CAITANYA. He was known as Dabir
Khas, but renamed ‘Rüpa Gosvämi’ by
Caitanya. Through his efforts VØNDÄ-
VANAwas rediscovered and rebuilt, and
he is the author of important works on
GAUDÏYA VAIÆŒAVISM, such as the
Bhaktirasämøtasindhu, the Ujjvala
Nïlämaæï, and many stotras.
