  • Senior Year – Continue participation in volunteer and extracur-
    ricular activities.
    o September – Fine tune applications and request letters of rec-
    ommendation from teachers, counselors, coaches, and men-
    tors.
    o October – Submit applications and begin applications for fi-
    nancial aid.
    o November and December – Contact potential schools and ar-
    range for personal visits and interviews.
    o January – Submit the FAFSA and CSS profile.
    o February and March – Follow up with potential schools and
    schedule personal visits with additional schools if desired.
    o March – Acceptance/Waiting List/Denial letters will start ar-
    riving.
    o April – Student Aid Report (SAR) awards and offers of ac-
    ceptance from individual schools will begin to arrive. Review
    each SAR for accuracy and notify the school’s department of
    admission prior to end of month.
    o May – Commit to the school of choice.


Through the S-A-F-E process you and your student will exercise due
diligence, carefully consider what constitutes a good fit, apply with con-
fidence, and then have the opportunity to choose between attractive of-
fers made by your collection of ideal schools.

that will help guarantee a lifetime of success!
