your clients like you. It is all about having them feel comfortable and
feel safe with you. Your clients want to know they can relax with your
guidance.

There are seven simple steps to break the ice and make people you
meet feel comfortable with you and win them over forever! Just like
I did with Michael.

  1. Smile - It seems like such an easy thing to do, but then why
doesn’t everyone do it? Such a simple thing makes a huge dif-
ference when you meet with someone. Your first impression is
always the most important impression. You can never get that
first meeting back, and there are no do overs, so smile often to
    make a positive impact.

  2. Listen - We all love to talk, but do we ever listen? It is amazing
what you learn when you sit back and just LISTEN. Be consid-
erate and willing to listen to what the client has to say. It is very
important to clearly understand the client’s values and needs. It
is all about what makes your client happy. You might also come
up with a great idea to make the deal work as you listen to the
clients concerns. When you listen like you care, it is really the
kind of attention every client wants. These days, people love to
talk, especially when they are nervous or anxious during a first
meeting. Always remember, just sit back and listen when you
    feel this coming on.

  3. Body Language - Reflect and mirror the body language of your
client. This again makes them feel more at ease and more at
home with you. People feel more comfortable being near you
when you have similar body language. Try it! We all have the
ability to read body language, we just need to take the time and
pay attention. Also make sure your body language is open and
positive. Try not to cross or fold your arms. This conveys you
are closed off and not open to communicating.

  4. Look Your Client In The Eyes - Absolutely a must and a sign
of respect. You have to look someone in the eyes when you talk
to them. Always try to connect on a personal level and make
eye contact to build trust and rapport. Wouldn’t it be strange if
