Concerns are also expressed about the accur-
acy and truthfulness of survey research, and it
is as well to remember that some character-
istics of the survey context promote truthful-
ness so as to emphasize these features. These
include underlining to the respondent the fact
that their completion of the questionnaire is
entirely voluntary, and that their responses are
a valuable contribution to understanding an
