Ecological Effect :
Negative effect
- Many varieties of traditional crops which were environment friendly and had
disease resistance capacity became extinct. - More irrigation increased the alkalinity and salinity of the soil and decreased the
underground water-level. - More use of chemical fertilizers made the soil barren and poisonous. T
- he land absorbs only 40% of the fertilizer used; in rest increases the pollution of
water and air. - Only 1% of the pesticides is used in insect-control; the rest makes the environment
and our food-chain poisonous. - The Waning Effects of the Green Revolution have made people anxious. So , the
bio-fertilizers, (rhizobium, blue green algae, Azotobacter etc.) should be
encouraged to overcome it. - The use of parasites, insectivores and neem-made insecticides should be
encouraged.
