Forbidden Food
Islamhasforbiddensomefoods thatruin thehealthanddestroythe
body.Instead,ithasreferredtosomefoodsthatcompriseessentialele-
ments. God says:
Oyouwhobelieve!Eatofthegoodthingsthatwehaveprovidedyou
with,andgivethankstoAllah ifhimitis that youserve.He hasonly
forbiddenyouwhatdiesofitself,andblood,andfleshofswine,andthat
over whichany other name than that of Allah has been invokes. But
whoeverisdriventonecessity,notdesiring,norexceedingthelimit,no
sinshallbeuponhim.Surely,Allahisforgiving,merciful.Forbiddento
youisthatwhichdiesofitself,andblood,andfleshofswine,andthaton
which any other name than that of Allah has been invoked,and the
strangledanimalandthat beatentodeathandthatkilled byafalland
that killedby being smittenwith thehorn, andthat which wild beasts
have eaten.
