SuperTips
One last Access ribbon control is the SuperTip. The SuperTip is very similar to the ToolTip used in
previous versions of Access. A SuperTip is relatively large and contains text that you specify, help-
ing the user understand the purpose of a control. The SuperTip, shown in Figure 29.7, appears as
the user hovers the mouse over a control on the ribbon.

Supertip
The SuperTip example in Figure 29.7 is included in the Main1 ribbon example in the
Chapter29.accdb database. Use frmSelectRibbon, choose Main1 from the list by double-
clicking, and view the Collectible Mini Cars tab on the sample ribbon.
You see examples of creating several types of ribbons controls in the following sections of this chap-
ter. In addition, the Collectible Mini Cars database accompanying this chapter (Chapter29.accdb)
includes several other examples that are not discussed in this chapter. You are encouraged to take a
look at these examples and to use them in your own Access ribbons if you find them useful.
Working with the Access Ribbon
We begin our discussion of the Access ribbons by briefly touring a custom ribbon built for the
Collectible Mini Cars (shown in Figure 29.8) database. Later in this chapter, you see how this rib-
bon was constructed, but in the meantime, just tour the ribbon, its controls, and its behaviors.
