Editing SharePoint list items
Figures 32.6 and 32.7 shows how easily an item in a SharePoint list (in this case, a calendar) can
be changed. All the relevant information is presented in a single screen. You add a new item, edit
an existing item, or delete an item, through this same screen.
SharePoint can manage virtually any type of data you want to share with other people. Although
this example concerns a specific project, SharePoint is suitable for many other purposes. For exam-
ple, a Boy Scout troop could use a SharePoint site hosted by a commercial service provider for
keeping track of its members and their merit badges. A bowling club could maintain tournament
schedules and player rankings as SharePoint lists. Many professional organizations use SharePoint
for maintaining calendars and membership lists.
