Chapter 18: Advanced Access Query Techniques

651

Tip
When you set query design options, the options specify default actions for new queries only and do not affect
the current query. To show table names in the current query, select View ➪ Table Names from the main Query
menu while designing the query.

Table 18.1 describes each Query design option and its purpose.

Setting Query Properties

While creating a query, you can set query properties a couple of different ways: click the Properties
button on the ribbon or right-click the query’s upper portion and choose Properties from the
shortcut menu. The options you choose depend on the query type and on the table or field with
which you’re working.

Table 18.2 shows the query-level properties you can set for various types of Access queries. I cover
each of these types of queries later in this chapter.
