Creating a Successful Leadership Style

(Steven Felgate) #1

Life is unfair, but with the help of the school community, he may be able
to level the playing field.

The only downside to following the advice of this chapter is that you re-
ally cannot think inside the box when you are convinced that your outside-
the-box plan is the silver bullet for improved achievement in your school.
If you are so convinced, do it. If you succeed you’ll be hailed as a genius,
write a book, and be called upon as a guest speaker demanding hefty fees.
If you fail, you’ll be back in the classroom, where, after all, you will have
the professional satisfaction of helping individual students succeed. Per-
haps, this is a win-win situation in favor of thinking outside the box. Or a
pipe dream in a world where life is unfair.
