topped coffee table, provided a model for countless Modernist domestic
interiors and commercial reception areas in ‘architect-designed’ interior
spaces for years to come. An illustration in the 1967 book Forme et colore
dell’arredamento modernodepicted a highly stylish combination living/
dining room which combined Barcelona chairs with a pedestal table and
chairs designed by Eero Saarinen, also manufactured by Knoll.
