PREVENTATIVE HEALTHAND SELF-HEALING
Inthestateofpristinehealth,thephysicalbodyofeveryhumanbeingexistsinharmonywithvarious
bacteria,virusesandchemicalprocesses.Whenthesystemsofthebody,whichkeepthebalance,be-
comeweakened,asituationofdis-easedevelops.Duetoignoranceinunderstanding(disharmonyin
thethoughtpatterns),themindhasfailedtoleadtheindividualtointernallycreatethepropersub-
stances(thoughtsandorchemicalprocessesthatcreatehormonesandproteinsneededtohavea
healthy body) which will allow for the proper energy distribution throughout the mind and body.
Thereareseveralfactorsinvolvedinpain,sufferinganddisease,however,attheirmostbasiclevel,
theyareallrelatedtothemind,thestateofwhichisareflectionofthespiritualhealthoftheindividu-
al.Thebodyisacreationormoldofthemind,whateverthemindcreateswilleventuallymanifestin
thebodyandtheenvironmentofthebodyaswell.Also,ifthemindisburdenedbyinsanity(worry,
anxiety,fear,delusions,stress,schizophrenia,etc.),theenergyflowfromthesoultothemindtothe
bodywillbedisturbedorblocked.Therefore,otherthanailmentscausedbyproblemsintheenviron-
mentoraccidents,physicaldis-easeisprimarilyduetoamentalimbalance,whichinturnisduetoa
spiritual imbalance.
Sincethebodyiscomposedofinertelements,itistheSpirit,throughthemediumofmind(energy)
andDNA,whichdirectsandcontrolstheelements,electrochemicalcompositionandchemicalreac-
tionswhichmakeuptheprocesswecalllife.Thesoulchoosestheparticularcircumstancesinto
whichtoincarnate.Thismeansthatitchoosesaparticularsetofchromosomalfactorsinafamily
alongwiththelife-timecircumstancesandsituationswhichwillallowittogaintheexperiencesitde-
sires and needs for its evolution.
Aproblemthatmanypeopleencounterinordinaryhumanlifeisthatthereislittleconcernorem-
phasisplacedonthepurityofthefood,bothmentalandphysical,thatisconsumed.Mentalfoodin
theformofelevatedthoughtsandwisdomteachingsareessentialinmaintaininghealthyreason(in-
tellectualsharpnesswhichcomesfromstudyingthemysticalteachings)andpositivementalvibra-
tions.Nourishmentintheformofsolidfoodandexerciseareprerequisitestophysicalhealth.Physic-
alhealth,thoughnotanabsoluterequirementforthepracticeofspiritualdiscipline,ishelpfulsince,
asstatedpreviously,itismoredifficulttofocusthemindonspiritualmatterswhenthemindistied
up in the experiences of pain and suffering.
Withthisinmind,therearevariousmodesofpracticewhichhavebeendevisedtomaintainhealth
andtodealwithailments.However,theyshouldnotbelimitedtojustdealingwiththephysicalsigns
of disease since these are only the manifestations of a deeper psycho-spiritualroot cause.
