Slabwhichsymbolizestheflowingofone’sconsciousnessfromtheworldofduality(relativereality
- timeandspace–worldliness),totheoneSupremeSelf.Thus,thisinjunctionissayingthatinorder
tohaveLife,VitalityandHealth,onemustbeabletoofferasenseofSemaTawi(Yoga),unionwith
theDivine...enlightenment,totheDivine.Theimplicationisthatinspiritualterms,thehealthiestper-
sonisanEnlightenedperson.ThismeansregardlessofwhateverphysicalailmentsanEnlightened
sagemayhave,theyarestillhealthierthananunEnlightenedpersonwhomayappeartobeingood
physicalhealth.ThisisreflectedinthetextfromChapter 34 ofthePertEmHeruText,verse10,
wheretheinitiate,havingattainedenlightenmentsays:“Thereareverysickpeople,Igotothem,I
spit on the arms, I set the shoulder, and I cleanse them.”
Thus,Enlightenedpersonsareseenastheultimatehealers,healingtheveryrootsourceofalldis-
eases,ignoranceofone’struenature.Inmysticalphilosophy,ignoranceofone’struenatureisre-
gardedastheonlytruediseasethatexists.Allothersocalleddis-eases,mentalandphysical,arise
fromthissingularcondition,whichexpressesasegoisminthehumanpersonality.Egoismistheex-
perienceofbelievingyourselftobeanindividual,disconnectedandseparatefromeverythingaround
you,includingtheDivine.Enlightenmentistheopposite.Itisexperiencingtheunderlyingonenessof
everything,includingtheDivine,andtherebyactingincontradictionwithDivineOrder(Maat).Re-
flectonthemetaphoroftheocean.Egoismislikebelievingyouareonewaveintheocean,andthat
everyotherobjectincreation,includingtheDivine,arealltheotherwavesaroundyou,andacting
fromthatperspectiveofseparationandindividuality.BeinganEnlightenedhumanbeingisunder-
standingthateventhoughyouexistintheworldaswave-likepersonality,asawave,youareessen-
tiallyonewiththeoceanandwithallotherwavesandactinginaccordancewiththatDivineaware-
ness.Inthelattercase,asanEnlightenedpersonality,youunderstandtheDivinetobetheocean,and
allthewaves,includingthewaveofyourindividualpersonality,tobeonewiththeocean.Asamat-
