noted above. If necessary, turn up the air conditioner and turn on the fan. It may be more comfortable for
the SP if the fan is turned on after the test has started and he or she is warming up.
3.8.5 Mesh Vest
If male SPs have chest hair that interferes with the attachment of the electrode:
The electrode can be moved slightly to give better contact with the skin. The electrode
may be positioned approximately 2 inches from the optimal site for electrode
placement.
If there is a lot of hair on this spot, try to move the hair aside and place the electrode
on the site with as much skin contact as possible.
In this situation, optimize the situation and use the mesh vest. Record this on the
Exam Preparation screen in ISIS. The default for this field is set to ‘No’ and is
disabled for females.
3.9 Treadmill Test
3.9.1 Setup of Colin STBP Automatic BP Monitor
See Sections 3.8.1 through 3.8.3 for procedure for electrode placement and cuff
selection and placement.
Press Power button to turn on power.
SELF TEST is displayed on the Elapsed Time/Cuff Pressure Indicator.
The BP monitor performs a self-test.
- If an error is found:
a. FAIL is displayed on the Elapsed Time/Cuff Pressure Indicator.
- If no error is found the following are displayed for about 5 seconds:
a. The year on the Systolic Indicator,
b. The month on the Diastolic Indicator, and
c. The date on the Heart Rate Indicator.
