Read the options clearly and slowly enough for the SP to understand what the options
are. Put special emphasis on the words in capital letters.
If the SP is not sure about the difference between heavy and modest activities, use the
examples listed for these activities.
If the SP’s activity level over the last few months is different from his or her activity
level in general, use the activity level which bests describes the activity level over the
last year.
If the SP is still not sure in which category they fall, (little or modest, modest, or
heavy), select the lower category.
Encourage the SP to answer as honestly as possible to obtain the exercise protocol that
will get valid information about their fitness level.
Select 1, 2, or 3 from the drop-down menu.
If the SP refuses to answer or is unable to give an answer, select Refused or Don’t
Know. If ‘Refused’ or ‘Don’t Know’ are selected, the SP will be excluded from the
exam.
When the Next button is pressed, the ISIS system will go to the Component Status
Screen. The Status will be set to ‘Not Done’ with the comment ‘Unable to calculate
protocol.’
