TheHDRManipulationofimagescreatesoneimage, by
combiningmultipleexposuresofthesameimagethathave
beenbracketedatdifferingexposuresincameratocreatea
more representative rendering of the scene.


TheHDRimageshowsgreaterdepthwhereallthedetails
inthelightanddarkareasareretained,andassuchawider
range of detail is available to the
photographer from the highlight areas through to the
shadows,wheretheymaynothavebeenvisibleinasingle
exposure.Thusthetechniqueiseffectively extendingthe
dynamic range of the image.


FortheultimateresultstheimagesselectedmustbeRAW
files,andatleastthreeimagesshouldbeusedtocreatea
satisfactoryresult.Theexposuresshouldbefirstacorrectly
exposed image, then an underexposed image to capture
detailspresentinthehighlightsandanoverexposedimage
tocapture detailsin theshadowareas.Theseimagesare
then merged by thesoftware (in Photoshopthis canbe
foundinthefilemenuunderAutomate)tocreatetheHDR
image.
