D-Photo USA (2019-07-08)

(Antfer) #1
15 YEARS | RETROSPECTIVE

October–November 2015 —
D-Photo Issue No. 68

Ilan Wittenberg’s feature in
this issue, Faces of Jerusalem,
goes on to win him the Travel
Photographer of the Year
award at the Cathay Pacific
Travel Media Awards. In case
you’re not counting, that’s
the third D-Photo article to
achieve that in as many years!

August–September 2017 —
D-Photo Issue No. 79
After more than a decade of
publication, it’s time for D-Photo to
get a new look. A slick matte cover,
lustrously thick paper stock, and an
elegant new design direction help the
magazine pivot to being the beautiful
specimen you hold right now.
Along with our new look comes a new
champion: Sarah Caldwell is revealed
to be the Amateur Photographer of
the Year.

June–July 2018 —
D-Photo Issue No. 84
The D-Photo team is honoured
to be presented with the Emma
and William McPherson Award
by the PSNZ, for efforts to
foster interest and enthusiasm
in amateur photography. We
proudly accept the award at
the organization’s National
Convention in Dunedin.
Another bright note sees Kodak
announce that it will begin
producing film again.

August–September 2014 —
D-Photo Issue No. 61
This year sees Sigma taking over
sponsorship of the Amateur
Photographer of the Year
Competition. It also sees a record
58,000 entries — a jump of 65 per
cent on the year before. Landing at
the top of all those submissions is
Amateur Photographer of the Year
Edin Whitehead.
We also catch up with Chris Rainier,
one of the greatest living
Ilan Wittenberg, Travel documentary photographers.
