costs include flextime and telecommuting or allowing
employees to occasionally work at home. Because of the low
costs of these example practices, companies without the
resources of high-performing companies could just as easily
have adopted the practices. Thus, the existence of financial
resources does not always have an impact on whether the
practices are adopted.^126
