revised versions of the letters to the
next class for others to read.
Students can create their own materials,
which, in turn, can become texts for other
students.8 The students discuss what they have
learned in the class and what they want
to learn in the future.
A goal of the Participatory Approach is
for students to evaluate their own
learning and to increasingly direct it
themselves. This is one way that they can
feel empowered.
