FOLLOW THE LEADERHis church would be the greatest trainer of leaders in the world!
The church should be the most leadership intensive organization
in society! Jesus entrusted the leadership of His church to His
redeemed people. The church should be raising up the best leaders
of all. Christian leaders have everything the secular leader has
through natural endowment – but they also have the supernatural
endowment that only comes through God’s Spirit!- Fourth, since all leadership gifts come from God – whether they
are natural or supernatural - they must be broken and sanctified to
be fully used by Him! Until our gifts of leadership are broken,
sanctified and purified, they will be polluted with self through and
through. Like all valid spiritual experiences, this sanctification of
our leadership gifts is both a crisis and process. It must consciously
begin at some point – but it will continue throughout time, and
even continue into eternity. No leader becomes completely freed
from the many self-sins against which we all struggle. That is
a leadership battle that will be a lifelong struggle of daily
surrenders!
As we close this section, may our prayers as leaders be what King David
prayed about his life and leadership...
“You know my folly, O God; my guilt is not hidden from
You. May those who hope in You not be disgraced because of me,
O Lord...may those who seek You not be put to shame because
of me...” (Ps. 69:5-6).
