LEADERS ARE
POSITIVE
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right,
whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable
- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things”
(Phil. 4:4-8).
In this attribute of leadership we are talking about attitude. This represents
the positive mind-set of the leader. Usually the single biggest difference
between the people who are the leaders and the ones who are the followers
is attitude. Life after life and leader after leader have clearly proven that
attitude is far more crucial to success in life than aptitude! Simply put, it
is attitude more than aptitude that determines altitude! You can have all
of the aptitude, or ability in the world, but if you have a negative, defeatist,
critical, faultfinding attitude, you will not succeed in life. Your leadership
altitude will flop rather than fly - if you have a bad attitude. Good leaders
are never negative people. They almost always have a positive personality –
which is the “winning attitude!”
Principle: “Attitude more than aptitude
determines altitude.”
Because they are people of purpose, good leaders are basically positive
people who win the allegiance of others. Only a positive purpose is worthy
of giving your life for – which is what makes the Christian faith and life
