18th Century
The hinged rectangular top opening to reveal a fitted
interior consisting of twin inner and outer compart-
ments of four small wells centering a door with brass
handle, over an arrangement of two short side by side
and three long drawers, the drawers with brass pull han-
dles and escutcheon plates, raised on a platform base
with block feet.

George III Mahogany Long Case Clock

Early 19th Century
The rectangular hood with an arch pediment, raised on
gilt mounted Ionic columns enclosing an arched door,
the glazed sides and top of the arch, surmounted by a
eagle atop a ball finial, the trunk with an arched panel
molded door raised on an outstepped plinth base with
bracket feet, the arched gilt brass dial and the silver
chapter ring having Roman hours and Arabic minutes, a
subsidiary seconds and an alarm dial, applied silver plaque
engraved “John Frost, Chichester, Fecit.” flanked by twin gilt
cast dolphins in the arch.
