As production costs weigh heavily in the process of generating added value, revising the formula of
fertilizers is essential in balancing the price of rice compared to that of inputs. Moreover, inventing and
producing a fertilizer made with apatite, Azolla and manure could create new jobs in the country. This
would limit the outflow of foreign currency linked to the import of chemical inputs and would also
increase farmers’ income and rice’s competitiveness.
