faces a high hurdle at Toyota. The process used for adopting the Agillence soft-
ware is typical at Toyota and follows the flow of logic in Figure 9-4, above, for
a lean IT process. It is not enough to show in the abstract that IT can automate
a process or provide more and better information. It must be clear how it will
