Q
How do I get a copy
of the board game
project that was in your
242 issue? I receive your
magazine, but it must have
been out before I started
getting it. Thanks!
Nancy Kerr, via email
A
Heather: This fab
project designed by
Lisa Reakes has been very
popular. Unfortunately, this
issue is now out of stock,
but you can still download
the digital edition via our
iPad and Android apps. I
hope you have fun stitching
and playing this project!

Frustration
Lauren is looking for tips to master
her stitchy nemesis – French knots
Q
Could you possibly
design a small
cheerleader pattern as I would
like to stitch one for my
granddaughter’s birthday in
November? Thank you.
Joan Worthington,
via email
A
Jenny: I hope you like
this sweet cheerleader,
Joan. You can choose
alternative thread shades for
each element of the design to
really personalise it to suit your
granddaughter. There’s a few
fractionals for shaping and
backstitch for definition.
Q
How do I get French
knots to stay on top of
the fabric like on your photos?
Mine always disappear into
the fabric or other stitches –
it’s so frustrating!
Lauren Fellow, London
A
Fiona: French knots can
be tricky, Lauren, but the
best way to get the hang of
them is simply to practise. Why
not use a scrap piece of fabric
and threads from your stash,
following our guide on page
97 for the process? If you’re
still struggling, you could also
use more strands of thread in
the needle, creating a bigger
knot that is less likely to be
pulled back through the fabric
again, until you get the hang
of it. Check out some online
video tutorials for more great
top tips as well. Good luck
with your practise and I’m sure
you’ll be an expert at them in
no time!
