Clutterinanyartstudiomakes
keepingthespacefreeoftoxinsand
allergensnearlyimpossible—and
that’sespeciallytrueofa pastel
studio.Pasteldustaccumulateson
everysurface,andthemorestuffyou
havesittingaround,themorestuff
youmustclean.Thatpasteldustcan

causeproblems,especiallyif youdon’t
usea roomfiltrationsystemandclean
regularly.I’mcontinuallyamazedat
howmuchdustfloatsaround,even
whenI’mcarefulnottoblowonthe
pastel—andI useanairfilteronmy
tablerightnexttomyeasel.

in which to store my things. We
