1927 it was to find that a
leather travelling case
presented to her by the
Amateur Swimming Club had
been stolen from her
bedroom. The case contained
‘swimming articles,
programmes, and a number of
press photographs of the last
few years’ and although there
was money in the room, only
the case was taken.
