Within London, in 1819 the
Royal Waterloo Bath, built
inside a ship’s timber hull,
had been anchored off
Waterloo Bridge. Historian
Ian Gordon has identified
seventeen floating baths in
Great Britain, most built
between 1870 and 1880, and
