several years painting the
spot in the late 1880s and his
Boulter’s Lock, Sunday
Afternoon shows a traffic jam
of boating parties passing
through the narrow lock, a
scene of happy mayhem with
oars, punts and sails, and
everyone decked out in their
Sunday best.
