Gloucestershire, to a winding
waterway through the city of
Oxford, to the rowers’ delight
that is Henley, the grandeur
of the Thames overlooked by
Windsor Castle, and now I’m
here in Surrey, just entering
Greater London.
First built in 1814 and then
rebuilt in 1906 and enlarged
to let 200-foot-long naval
craft through, Molesey is still
a working lock today. It’s
lined with well-trimmed
