march.  Three   men are helped
out of  their   kilts,  then    dive    off
a   punt    in  shorts  and costumes,
watched by  women   in  a
nearby  rowing  boat    as  they
swim    across  the river.  After
the war a   temporary   lido    was
built   on  the Thames; a
postcard    from    the 1920s
shows   it  near    Richmond
Bridge, a   structure   similar to
the floating    pontoon at
Kingston    in  the same    period,
