Some sixty years later
Richmond was again the
starting point for a
memorable swim when Kevin
Murphy covered forty-two
miles through the centre of
London, all the way to
Gravesend. Today Kevin is
known as ‘King of the
Channel’, having completed
thirty-four Channel crossings
– more than any other man.
He is also the honorary
secretary of the Channel
