to the Ibis Club House’. The
following year the Zephyr
Swimming Club, ‘one of the
best known amateur
organisations in the
metropolis’, had their annual
mile handicap with nineteen
people swimming from
‘Kew-bridge’ to the ‘Ship at
Mortlake’, while the ASA
held a 1,000 yards race from
