Evaporation continued due to

increase in temperature

Evaporation from lakes, oceans,

or other bodies of water

Evaporation causes air to become more
moist. Rising air is now able to condense
at higher levels and the cloud grows taller.
The freezing cloud particles become too
heavy to be supported by rising warm air
and it rains. Lightning develops when the
cloud becomes unstable and experiences
turbulance.

Downdrafts occur throughout the cloud.
Deprived of its rich supply of warmed
humid air, cloud droplets no longer form.
Light showers below and upper level
winds dissipate the cloud.
