ENCANTO MISTAKES
tinyurl.com/TWJ-encanto
Disney’s Encanto film is a big hit but it’s not
entirely perfect. This YouTube video picks out
some of the little mistakes in the film, such as
disappearing characters,
flipped baskets
and more.
I
t’s fair to say that the northernmost parts of Canada,
near the Arctic Ocean, are a bit chilly. Thankfully
there’s now a way to explore these lands from
the warmth of your own home in Inua – A Story
in Ice and Time.
It’s a “point and click” adventure
set in the Great North region of
Canada. Point and click is the
term that is used to describe
a type of adventure game
where, instead of moving
your character around, you
move an on-screen pointer
to explore different locations,
then click on a mouse button
to take action, such as using an item or talking to
a character in the game.
Of course, nowadays you may be tapping on a
touchscreen rather than clicking. Inua is available
on PC and Mac computers, as well
as smartphones and Nintendo’s
Switch console.
You start by playing
a journalist called Taïna,
who is investigating the
mysterious disappearance
of a ship called The Terror.
However, as you explore
you’ll get the chance to hop
back in time to meet two
more characters, Peter and Simon, whose stories help
to shed light on the ship’s fate.
Inua’s gameplay is about solving puzzles, clicking
(or tapping) on the scenes to examine objects and
talk to people about them. The clever part is that your
actions and conversations in the past affect Taïna’s
investigation in the present day. The puzzles are
usually a case of looking closely at your surroundings,
asking characters about the things you find and using
their responses to guide your next moves.
The best thing about Inua is the story that
gradually draws you in. It’s based on the history and
mythology (legends and beliefs) of the Inuit – the
people who live in the Arctic region – so as you play
you’ll be learning about their way of life, too.
Arctic adventure
In the game you hop
between time periods.
GLOBAL RECYCLING DAY
globalrecyclingday.com
Global Recycling Day takes place on 18 March.
This website tells you about some “recycling
heroes” and lets you nominate your own.
LAMAFOX
This fun puzzler for Apple
and Android phones gets
you to play hide and seek
with a “lamafox” (shaped
like a llama, but the
colour of a fox) named
Fredfred. You can play
for free, with an optional
in-app purchase to unlock
more levels.
Wrap up warm for Inua – A Story in Ice and Time.
